Airline of the year 2006 awarded to British Airways

June 8th, 2006

British Airways has scooped the title of Airline of the Year 2006 at the annual Skytrax World Airline Awards.

Jumping four places from last year’s line-up, British Airways beat key competitors from all over the world to take the award.

The results found that the number of premium passengers to nominate British Airways was higher than any of the other airlines in the top ten.

Martin George, British Airways’ commercial director, said: ‘We are delighted to have won this award.

They are judged by the people whose opinions we value the most our customers. We thank them for taking the time to vote.

We will continue to invest in our people and products to offer excellent service to our customers. We have an exciting year ahead with the introduction of our new Club World cabin, changes to First class, improvements to in-flight entertainment for all our passengers and continuing enhancements to ba.com. We are also looking forward to our move to London Heathrow’s Terminal 5 in 2008. All of these changes will further improve the customer experience.
